| The microscope diaphragm is located beneath the microscope stage, and
is used to adjust amount and cone shape of the light entering the diaphragm.
It's proper use can dramatically increase resolution.
A disk diaphragm has five or six settings, while an iris diaphragm has a continuous, limitless adjustment within its' range.
